Awesome Anytime Applesauce

Raw applesauce made in minutes with minimal ingredients!

Applesauce is a multipurpose condiment that can be substituted for eggs and fats when baking, added to smoothies for that extra sweetness or mixed with oats for added fiber or can simply be enjoyed by itself.

This incredibly easy recipe is refined sugar free but loaded with the healthy goodness of apples. Apples are known as nutritional powerhouses as they are rich in antioxidants, dietary fiber and phytonutrients, thus when consumed regularly they help reduce the risk of developing, cancer, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. Apples are known to be particularly useful in combating the risk of developing dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe:

  • 2 large Granny Smith apples (or other variety), cored and quartered
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1 medjool date, pitted OR 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Add all ingredients to the bowl of a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Spoon into glass jars, refrigerate and use within one week.
