First Time Ever: Plant-Based Diet Recommended By US Federal Guidelines
Hope After Distressing Findings on the Standard American Diet
According to the findings of a study by 2015 Dietary Advisory Guidelines Committee, only 9% of American adults consume the recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables. The study highlights that there is a glaring gap between the Standard American diet and a healthy diet, as the former primarily comprises of animal based products like processed meats, dairy and saturated fats.
As per the findings of this recent study, a large percentage of American adults and children are obese or overweight and roughly every second American adult suffers from a chronic disease as a result of a unhealthy diet.
The study concludes that a plant based diet would not only benefit people but also the environment.
Lets further invest in our health and environment further through this Guideline
