Terrific Truffles – Raw And Vegan
A Nutritious Treat for Kids and Adults, Vegans and Non-vegans!
This easy recipe makes a wholesome batch of treats that your kids are going to love! Packed with the goodness of almonds, sweetened with soft chewy dates and dried cherries to balance that sweetness, these truffles also double up as a great post-workout snack.
These truffles are refined sugar free, non-dairy and oil free. Almonds contain good fats and dates are a power-house of minerals, vitamins, phytonutrients and fiber. Tasty and healthy is a winning combination and that’s exactly what these truffles are.
These customizable treats can be re-created to cater to ones likes, so replace dried cherries with dried cranberries or raisins. Switch maple syrup with agave, add cinnamon or vanilla powder ,in short, do as you please coz it’ll always be right-for you!
Indulge your kids
Ingredients (makes 8 or 9)
- 150g dates
- 100g almonds
- 50g dried cherries
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- Chop the dates in half.
- Put the almonds into a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
- Put the rest of the ingredients in the food processor and pulse until well mixed and sticky.
- Put a little bit of oil on your hands and roll out little balls of the mixture.
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
